Re: 拔 萃 小 學 明 年 重 招 女 生
1) DBS stand for 拔萃小學 located at 1號志士達道 and is a government subsidy school, will they change to co-ed in the near future?
No, DBS is at Kadoorie Hill, the one at Chester Road is DPS and they will change to co-ed in the future.
2) DPJS stand for 拔萃男書院附屬小學,"新小拔",是直資 or private ? Where does it locate?
DPJS is the new primary school. It will be a private school and it is also at Kadoorie Hill.
3) DPS stand for 拔萃男書院,已轉直資,會和新小拔結龍 ?
DPS is not DBS and it is a government subsidised school and will admit girls. It was solely linked to DBS in the past but this relationhip will change after DPJS is completed.
4) DBS only has 2 classes for its primary one, as compare to La Salle and Maryknoll, they have about 5 classes, then the chance of getting into DBS will be comparetively small, however will they plan to open up more classes so as to admit more girls in 2005?
DBS does not have primary, DPJS and DPS have. DPS now has two classes of P.1. DBS does not accept girls. How they will structure their classes is not yet announced.
5) I have great interest in DGS for my daughter, but you know it is very very difficult to get into, as far as I know DBS will admit girls, now my target may be changed. What would you comment on the academic standard of DGS and DBS, and the english standard?
You seems to be very very confused about the DBS, DGS, DPS and DPJS relationship. It is indeed quite confusing. I think if you want your girl to get into DGS by getting into DPS, you will be disappointed. The DGS that I know will not even give any face to applicants that is third generation ex-DGS, let alone new students from DPS. DPS may still be better than other primary schools. However, if you think DPS is a short cut to DGS or it gives you a better chance, you should be prepared for the worst.
