I heard quite a number of parents complaining about the school bus services. I am not speaking for the bus company but just want to share my views -
The school bus service only serves SMC students and SMC students spread through all over Yuen Long, Tuen Mun, Shatin, Tai Po, East Kowloon... in districts which are a bit far from the school. It is not an easy task for the bus company to plan for a route that would make everyone happy in view of the extensive coverage to be served.
The bus company would not be able to change its bus fleet (to use more small buses running more routes) to accommodate the current year need from capital expenditure perspective. Besides, 24 seaters Coaster is more comfortable and relatively safer than HIACE van.
I agree that the fare is relatively higher.
Hence, transportation and distance are also important factors in the selection of school for the kids. |
