Re: St Catherine's Vs CCKG 點揀？
As with my understanding, an ex-colleague shifted her kid from St. Catherine to CCKG for the purpose of entering新小拔. But she failed eventually, and she told me that a lot of CCKG kids failed as well, and the mothers kept crying when they shared their feeling over the phone. Luckily, her kid was picked for the 舊小拔 from the draw, so she lost the apple and got back the orange.
If you really want to enter 新小拔, listen to me as I know their selection criteria after I generated the feedback from the mothers:
Firstly, the mother must NOT be working. In the first round of interview, they will take out those working mothers.
Secondly, they picked those fathers with professional jobs, such as lawyers, doctors or the boss of a company. If you fit these two criteria, you could enter the second interview.
Then, the kid must have talent in sport AND music. You need to showcase that your kid has both strengths. Good luck!
St Catherine is strong in teaching phonics, while CCKG doesn’t teach phonics. On the other hand, CCKG kids speak good English, as the classes are conducted in English.
Some 10 boys in my kid’s class applied for 新小拔, but only one was selected. I am not sure about the other St Catherine K3 class. I also went to the interview and found out that 新小拔 put all St Catherine kids in one day for interview. |
