Dear all papa & mama,

搵D exercise出比個仔做, 所有題目都唔識睇, 又唔知老師講唔講, Comprehension 都唔知佢識睇幾多個字! 我讀出來佢就明, 自己睇唔掂真怕佢. 你哋点教呀? 例如: Fill in the correct letters, 佢填 "a", "b" or "c" 以OK, 佢就全句答, Complete sentences 佢又答short answer. 激到我死死吓!佢冧嘢又奇特, 攪到我要同佢鬥智鬥力!

Pls share.

dictation and usage is how i prepare my son.

not only how to answer but how to read question lor.

of coz, my boy still mix up some time

like last time, chinese listening assesment, ask him to fill up the circle but he only check on it.

don't worry la, only P1 1st term.
let's set up our kids foundation first la.

we still have many terms to go.

Dictation 阿仔仲OK, 每日黙一次, 默足7日, 所以總算平安過渡. 但Test, 真係怕佢交白卷, 唔識就唔填, 好有吉士, 你真係睇得開? 佢攪我EQ好底. Last Tue同佢溫Who, Where, How old 等字, 問佢
1) Where is your school?
2) How old are you?
3) Who is your mother?
竟然答: My mother is tiger.

你話死唔死! 一路溫佢一路話頭痛, 我都唔理佢, 直致上床先feel 倒佢發燒, 仲101度, haha!

我怕今次考得唔好, Exam時仲難追!

he is smart la, can say my mother is tiger.

in fact, we all have difficulty la.

imagine a 6 years old boy needs to study so many thing a day and need to absord so fast and need to memorize how to use

you and I can't do most of the time la.

take care of his health.

(by all means, i do yell at my boy too.  his mother often complaint about that)

don't make ourselves nervous la.

we are have high expectation to our son.  all i want to say (self make self eat lor)

Don't worry too much.

I remember when my son was in P1, his 1st test's performance was not good, full of carless mistakes, mis-read questions, insufficient time to complete the paper etc.

While parents were all worried, Ms Chan, the principal, comforted us that we should not use the results in P1 as a basis of how well our sons would perform in his primary schooling. She said that P1 test/exam are not reliable at all, our kids are still young and getting use to primary school life.

One tip for all P1 parent:
My son's experience in P1 1st test is, the teacher will READ OUT & EXPLAIN the questions to the class before they start to do the paper.

Hi Andrewpapa,

原全明白和認同你, 但有時我又忍唔住!可能我有個大女, 所以覺得佢哋大家的小一生活方式都好唔同! 加上仔同女分別好大!

可能睇得"荷媽"多, 棒下出孝子, 要收割先彎腰!

我自問也揾咗間好學校比佢, 所以期望佢越讀越開心和暢順, 心知佢今年會辛苦D, 因為kindergarten 佢好free, 好happy, 現在簡直天和地, 好采Summer Holiday take咗小一預備班的 course, 也traning up 好多.

有時也鼓勵同讚吓佢, 大少心情好, 我哋都合作愉快, 好采佢好like番學, 唔係我仲煩! ,我唔感对佢鬆, 怕捉唔住, 我懶時佢更懶 - 身教! Haha!

祝我哋大家都努力啦!!!!!!!!!!

P.S. 阿仔好enjoy上次個BBQ,再一次thanks for your invitation. 下次再攪, 等我哋搵2-3個賓姐到場幫手燒, 你哋就唔駛咁辛苦!

Thank you for your sharing.

再一次覺得間學校好! 校長同老師有愛心, 有辦學精神!雖然是直資也唔係commercial 那種!

阿仔有話D老師好惡, 但正合我意, 哈! 9月4日已被老師寫手冊 "上堂玩耍", 番到屋企比我鬧足一晚, 佢話"得..得..得" 以後唔玩, 唔講嘢, 上堂留心. 可能怕我煩, so far 到現在未有 complaint, 等我今晚番學校double check D老師, 如果真有改善也抵寫呀!

其實我最怕 D老師 label 咗D學生, 就真係永不超生!

今次test我擔心和緊張, 因為叫做第一次測驗, 加上我公司有events, 成個week也唔可以放normal hour - 6:00 p.m. 番到屋企起碼 10:00 p.m.後, 老公又唔識教, 所以現在開始操, 希望唔會太差啦!

係咪study所有範圍就OK? 會唔會有課外題? 有本中文D詞語都幾深, 係咪要默晒?

You are so hard working! I haven't really sat down and read the test areas yet!

There is an unseen comprehension for English, right? I don't know what it is .... How about the use of "Where", "How" ... ect? Do the students need to answer the questions? I thought they just fill in the blanks like the worksheets.

My boy said Mrs Conrad is 惡

, but it was for those who did not sit properly according to his sayings ...

有個J2 mama話會出 Who, Where, What for fill in the blank, 所以教佢D字点解, 幾時用. 其實唔係我勤力, 係知道阿仔英文好弱, 想將勤補拙, 初初叫佢讀本reader, 真係好慘, 幾乎所有字都唔識讀, 我唯有一句一句,一段一段咁repeat 又repeat讀, 佢由細聲讀到大聲, 每晚臨訓前一定要讀一次, 現在教了3個pages, 佢也識背page 1 了. 總算有小小成果, 但遲D多咗功課同test, 就唔知可唔可以堅持了.

Do we need to recite the reader?????? My God! We just read the pages according to the handbook jar!

We need him to read the words and understand the text as well. His first Chinese listening was a disaster ....

I hope that it is just time that he needs to adapt la ....

唔係我要佢背, 而係太多次的repeat, 佢熟到可以背, 唔好笑, 十個字七個都唔識讀, into, to, the, get, herself, kept, wash, 全部讀唔比個音, 都唔好話 swishing, swoshing, splashing etc...D深字, 第一個page我哋讀咗起碼30次, 佢五音不全, 讀得好肉酸, 所以一個一個字同佢讀, 同佢練, 家姐仲笑佢文盲, conversation ok因為有賓姐, reading and speaking簡直嚇死人!

有mama話個仔全部讀晒, 無難道, 無字唔識讀, 攪到我自已都番屋企反醒, Mr. Patel 我都唔sure 個"a"音重or輕, 所以佢真叻仔!

中文 - 阿仔反而ok, 可能佢去街時成日周圍望, 又成日問字, 但改寫句字就唔暢順.

Don't worry TTma. I'm sure your boy will pick up soon. My boy's reading is fine. But we don't have helper so we have to try our best to train his oral. Somehow, I think no matter how well prepared we are for the tests / exams, the boy's status on that day is crucial to the outcome. So, take it easy la!

大家唔使咁PANIC, 學校出既TEST範圍係好貼課程. 有冇課外? 有, 就係中文閱讀理解, Eng comprehension同埋GS有3-4題通識 (用中文問, 係MC題), that's all!

仲有, 所有卷都係"供詞填充", 包保識寫 (除非呀仔抄錯/唔寫), 所以, 不斷讀範圍既內容就夠哂.

最快方法... READ ALOUD AGAIN & AGAIN! (對我個仔好WORK!)

If your boys 1st test result is not what you wish, don't push them and blame them ar.

encourage them since this is their first ever real test.

always support our boys in a positive way
