Hi,

I'm looking for a new piano for a young kid who is just a beginner, and we want a piano which can be used upto grade 8, our budget is around $20K. Have seen a Hoffmann & Kuhne piano (HS121MD) in TOM Lxx, it is made in Indonesia, and it costs HKD24300 in full payment, anyone here has bought or tried this piano, pls give comment, or any other suggestions are welcome. Thx in advance....

Hi there,

I have a Yamaha U3 Piano for Sale if you don't mind a used one.

Bought it for 3 years but hardly ever used since I entered Uni, hence it is literally 95% NEW. Selling it with the bench, velvet cover, and electric heater.

FYI, Yamaha U3 is the tallest upright amongst the U series. It is designed for professional players, therefore it can definitely support your kid up to Grade 8 or even Performance level playing.

Thanks for your advice. I've seen some china/indonesia made yamaha pianos which are within our budget in Tom Lxx, but they are not tall enough (ie. below 121cm), and I'm afraid that a short piano may not be good enough for higher grade usage.

你可以考慮下印尼做既Yamaha U1J﹐價錢大約三萬幾﹐個sales話佢跟Yamaha U1相似﹐但U1就係日本做。

I agree with u, price reflects quality. Actually, we did start with a lower budget (below 20K), but then we bring up the budget a bit more to mid 20K, and we just hope we can get the best we can within this budget. I heard of other brands like Bachmann, Ottostein, wesberg, their China or Indonesia made products are cheaper (below 20K), I might consider these brands too, if it turns out that a mid 20K range piano is not much better than a 10K+ .......

Hope to hear more BK mom advices before we make a choice........
