Both are extremely different kinds of school.
It really depends on how your son's adaptation on learning. I know well that my son never suits a traditional school, so I didn't have much trouble in choosing CKY for him. But if your son is very self-initiative and likes to take challenge on examination and heavy work load(some kids do like this), then La-Salle would be a better choice.
I think CKY ensures the pupils have happy school life, but their academic development tends to be slower and not in steps by steps like the traditional way of teaching. Its 'Topic' learning will teach the kids familiar with that particular topic, e.g. sea creatures. Kids fully distinguish the difference between whales shark and great white shark. They found a lot of fun in learning English from whales books, but if you ask them to write and spell them in detail, they may not able to do so. They can surely recongise the words but forget the spelling, as no dictation in the class.
But one thing is certain: they love the school and reading books very much. On the other hand, the light homework allow the kids enjoy family life with parents during evening and have time to read books, instead of struggling with flocks of homework, test and dictation until late night.
However, some parents tend to worry the kids may fail to meet the open examination and challenge with kids of other school.
There are a lot of pros & cons. Hope this can give you some psychological preparation. But I think you have make the decision, get along with your husband's:- La Salle. Am I right?? Please tell us your final mind. I think everyone here wish to know.  |
