It depends on several things: The quality of the product, the age of the kid and the amount of time that u spent with him. My personal opinion is if your kid is small, say below 1Y, and u r a busy mum and got to work during daytime, it will be nice to have a structural self-learning program for him. Like me, I can only stay with my son for 1-2 hours during evening before he sleeps, there’s only my Indo maid with him during the rest of the day. How can u imagine a maid who can’t read/speak neither Chinese nor English can develop his language? She is good in taking care of baby but definitely cannot be a tutor. A good program with video, stories, songs and books etc. can really help the kid to pick up the language skills at this stage. Of course, parents’ involvement is an essence. I spent my 1-2 hours with him to read the stories, listen to the music or play the game, it can help him to practice what he learn during the daytime in the program.
Most people said we can use the money hire private tutor or sending him to playgroups, can u easily find a private tutor or a playgroup nearby who offer for pre-school or under 12 months baby. Or will u feel comfortable to have your maid takes your little baby to playgroups located in other districts? I bought these products mainly because I don’t want my son to have ZERO development during this important stage.
Different people may have different expectation on the money he spent. Suggest you firstly understand the product and see whether it meets your expectation to avoid any regrets
