學校功課,填充題. 藍色是學生作的, 紅色是老師的批改, 請大家幫幫忙, 能不能說說為什麼會這樣改 ? 題目本身有沒有問題?

題目: Simple Present Tense or Present Continuous Tense?
1.He travels (travel) in China this summer.
1.He is traveling (travel) in China this summer.

2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father was carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.
2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father is carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.

3. People do always buy (buy) new mobile phones.
3. People don't always buy (buy) new mobile phones.

4.A: Did they go (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
B: No, they didn't.
4.A: Are they going (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
B: No, they aren't.

5. She often miss the (miss) class because of illness.
5. She often misses (miss) class because of illness.

I think it should be

I will be travelling in China this Summer.
I am going to travel in China this Summer.

The action is going to be happene ...

1. For something that you are planning to do so, we usually use present cont. tense. So "I am travelling ...." is correct. And instead, "He travels in China every Summer" is correct too. But of course the meaning has been different

2. I thinks teacher's reationale is that you are talking about the photo right in front of you. So present cont. is used.

兩個都得，表達的意思有少少不同。

2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father was carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.
2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father is carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.

阿仔正確。

3. People do always buy (buy) new mobile phones.
3. People don't always buy (buy) new mobile phones.

Grammar 上兩個都可以，意思不同。

4.A: Did they go (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
B: No, they didn't.
4.A: Are they going (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
B: No, they aren't.

兩個都可以，意思不同。

5. She often miss the (miss) class because of illness.
5. She often misses (miss) class because of illness.

老師正確。

題目訂明只可用Simple Present Tense 或Present Continuous Tense.

Simple Present Tense 是用於fact, 例如天空是藍色的, 或用於說明一些習慣,例如你每星期都去教堂.

Present Continuous Tense 是表示現正在進行的事, 或計劃/準備做的事.

1.He travels (travel) in China this summer.
1.He is traveling (travel) in China this summer.

老師對, 因是指計劃/準備於來緊的暑假去旅行.

2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father was carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.
2.This photo was taken when I was three.
My father is carrying (carry) me on his shoulders.

我認為你兒子對, 因事實上已發生.  但是題目不容許用past continuous tense, 請向老師了解一下.

3. People do always buy (buy) new mobile phones.
3. People don't always buy (buy) new mobile phones.

在文法上, 兩者都用simple present tense, 都是對的, 只是意思不同, 視乎你認為"人們總是買新手機"是對的, 還是"人們並不總是買新手機"是對的.

4.A: Did they go (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
  B: No, they didn't.
4.A: Are they going (go) to Ocean Park on Sunday?
  B: No, they aren't.

這條題目並無說清楚是過去的星期日還是未到的星期日, 如果是過去的星期日, 你兒子用simple past tense便對了, 但是題目限定只可用Simple Present Tense 或Present Continuous Tense, Simple Present Tense 是無可能的, 因不是fact亦不是習慣 (除非 "Sunday" 變成 "Sundays", 意思便變成每個星期日都去, 是一種習慣, 那便應用Simple Present Tense), 所以便必須選Present Continuous Tense, 意思變成計劃/準備於來緊的星期日去.

5. She often miss the (miss) class because of illness.
5. She often misses (miss) class because of illness.

用Simple Present Tense是對的, 只是你兒子忘了subject是"he/she/it"時, 後面的動詞要加 s/es.
