Hi all:
I've this question because:
- My 3.5 years old kid speaks both english and cantonese, and she understands pretty well the numbers in both languages, however she currently goes to a local kinder taught in cantonese
- We haven't come to a conclusion yet which stream she will go for in primary, local or international. Even for local schools, although we prefer schools teaching subjects in English, however, it's not upto us to decide eventually which school she will be admitted to.
- I am unsure if the Kumon center's teachers are experienced in teaching math in english in a more advanced level (i think in lower level they shouldn't have a problem)
- At home, sometimes I have to ask my helpers who speaks english to go through the materials with her as I may not have the time to do so
Can anyone please give me some opinions? Currently I ask the kumon's teachers to do it in english, but I think it will be less harmful if I let my kid to switch to cantonese mode as early as possible.
thanks
