It depends on the teacher's qualification and experience. Also, it's better if you can find a teacher by reference.
I personally charge more than that. I know of some teachers that charge $300/45 mins or $200/30 mins for junior grades.

shirley73a, beginner deserves the best teacher. As long as you know the teacher is good, and as long as you can afford, then you should go for it.
My girl is just a beginner, pre-grade maybe. Her teacher charges $250/45mins. She is very popular and she has turned down some teaching requests. Even it is expensive, I am still glad that she teaches my girl!
I have 2 new students who paid different to their old teachers. One paid $400 per month and the other one paid $400 per hour. I must say their standard and skill are totally difference!!
Generally, the fee of the teacher means somethings.
If you want your children to have a good start, you better choose one who have good musical knowledge and piano skill.
It would be too late to change the gesture, skills and so on afterwards.
