Y2KChild,
Not sure if the following answer will help.
I observed that, in HK, gifted children usually have verbal IQ > performance IQ. (Correct me if I am wrong.) My kid also has verbal IQ >150 & performance IQ =128. The EP also warned me of the big difference that he may not be outstanding when competing with other gifted children.
I suspect the difference may be because I emphasized verbal and logical training, thus he developed strong interest in these aspects. But I didn't give him chance to help with house work, take care of himself, etc. He is very weak in these aspects.
In a seminar delivered by Chinese University, the lady mentioned that IQ > 150 in any category may not be accurate any more due to ceiling effect. In my opinion, there is no need to do more IQ test so long as you find out that your kid is gifted. The number doesn't mean much. All you should do now is to give your child more exposure to find out his/her talents and interest. |
