Hi tngai,

There is no chance for MPS and SSGPS if you get 15 marks on the first round. You can try St. Paul Catholic.

十五分，我想應該是大女和沒有宗教信仰。

如果想報瑪利曼或聖士提反，據以往的情況，將會浪費了自行分配學位的機會。

至於聖保祿天主教，去年有ＢＢＫ家長報稱十五分第一階段取錄了。

既然考慮聖保祿天主教，會不會都考慮聖方濟？都是天主教女校。

I am also a working mom and my daughter has 15 points in the first round. As your example, I will try to enroll St. Paul and St. Francis for a try.

I want to know the school learning spirit

of the school. Are all the girls come from "rich" family or not.

I should say both are very good Catholic schools.

SFCS's Canossian Daughters of Charity from Italy and SPPCS's Sisters of St. Paul de Chartres from France were perhaps the earliest educationalist in Hong Kong. I have no doubt in their many years of education experiences here. Both schools have a very high academic standard and have been putting a lot of emphasis on moral training.

I guess the p.1 school allocation system is at best a fair and open system for all kids. I don't think it is useful and appropriate anymore to label any school as a "rich men's school".

For the 1st round of p.1 school allocation, you can only choose ONE school. As such, you can only apply for EITHER SPPCS OR SFCS but not both.

第一階段係計分, 不是計區. 妳可以報港九新界任何一間官/津校, 所以無話跨唔跨區.

第二階段先係計區, 住12網如果揀呢兩間其中一間, 乙部擺第一, (就算)第二都好大機會會成功, 又要看隨機號碼前唔前. 如非12網就真係跨區喇, 機會唔知, 但應該唔大. 有無人填甲部都成功?

功課方面, 我女剛上小一, 詳情要日後先知(味道!

) 每年4測2考, 測考期間一個星期測/考一科. 平日個個星期默一次書. 家長要有心理準備.

學生斯文有禮, 好乖, 上落樓梯唔準講野.

我係St Paul's Convent既, 唔係St Paul's Secondary. 兩校同一辦學教會.

我女舊年自行得0左, 我朋友幾抵死, 話我:"總之間學校有個Paul字妳就開心架啦!"

My daughter is in P3 in Sppcs. We didn't get in the school with 15 points during the 1st round so don't get the impression that you will definately get a seat with 15 points.And if you do not live in district 12, getting in the school during the 2nd round is not guaranteed.
After 2 years in this school, all I can say is it is not easy...esp if you are a working mum like me.The kid has to be quite disciplined as studying is done whole year round. Tests are more difficult than exams and include knowledge from previous years. I find maths test paper difficult as almost all questions (5-6 pages) are what you would call challenging or tricky questions with few questions that can be worked in one step. It is like having all the most difficult word problems in every test.
Last year,the older kids(P5-P6) I see at my bus stop waiting for the school bus seem always to be reading notes or books or newspapers. I must say that the school has "made" students who want to go on to secondary school like studying, which isn't that bad, I guess.But it is like running a marathon, really.

Could parents of SPPCS share more about the school, e.g. the volume of homework, teaching style, rate of getting into SP Secondary School? It is not easy to make a choice only with 15 points. Thanks.
