美國讀書程序

我的妹妹一家將於明年七月移居美國三藩市定居,但本人的女兒也想一同與表哥及表姐(因表哥及表姐是移民身份)一齊入學因年齡是９歲左右,可以有個照應.但本人的女兒不知以什麼身份可以居留讀書呢? 有冇好的學校介紹呢?

我想知道是到美國後拿學生簽証入讀私立學校, 還是在香港辦呢? 請問你知道學費約多少呢? 小學及中學價錢呢 ?

1. find out about which private school you like
2. apply
3. if you're accepted, they'll send you a I-20
4. take the I-20 to US 領事館 to get F-1 visa.
But..................
1. it's very unlikely that they'll approve your 9-yr old 's visa..becuase... tooooo young!!!
2. like Eva 222 said, Private school is really costly
3. it's not easy for a young kid to live with other family... for a 9-yr old... parents is really important part of his/her childhood.

I just think your kid can wait a year or 2... perhaps 14 is a good age.

Yes, i do feel that is a bit early to let your kid study overseas coz still young. How about finish primary school or even after secondary school. Like me, i went there when i was 18 ... but i am a us resident, so no need to pay fee, otherwise ... unbelievable.

Private elementary cost about 1000 to 1500 USD a month in everage. There is a private international school here(I think it's named Peninsula International School) close to SF, it cost over 20,000 USD a year and I remember they have a web site and U can find their information there.

Foreign student need to stay with legal guardian by law.

視乎地區及住宿安排而定。一般約USD18000-30000不等。小學嗎？年紀太少，不好辦簽証喎...

我以前過去美國既時候都系剛剛會考完畢
但過來美國既時候﹐ 距地話吾可以直接只是讀中六
一系就要repeat 中五﹐ 一系就睇下可吾可以直接入讀community college, 直頭skip 左中六
我自己系直接入讀community college, 但應該要depends on 你女女既成績

我個人覺得﹐ 好似系香港讀完中學過去比較好
因為講真﹐ 美國既中小學我覺得程度無香港甘高
系香港讀完中學先過來讀大學
如果系讀理科一定有著數

當然要俾學費

移民第一年要俾non-resident fee (都平過international student), 住夠一年同學校改status 就以後都可以俾resident fee.
中五或中六過到黎, 可以揀讀high school grade 12, 我班朋友都覺得讀high school 易0的識朋友. 我自己同親戚就直接讀community college, 入讀資格係high school 畢業同夠17 歲. 香港中五就當係high school 畢業, 所以夠17 歲都可以直接讀community college. 其實你都唔駛擔心咁多啦, 香港就快將中學改做六年課程. :)
我無讀過high school 唔清楚學費係點, 剩係知道學校會provide 課本. 讀完grade 12 都可以報community college 或者直接報university. 因為community college 既學費同每班既人數都比較少, 好多讀緊university 既resident 都會去埋community college take class (我同我班朋友都係).
9 歲離開爹地媽咪同親戚一齊住好慘架, 雖然三藩市有巴士搭, 但係無車都會好悶好唔方便. 起碼都讀埋中三先要佢過黎啦, 英文中學中三分左phy, chem, bio, 佢讀少少過到黎又叻0的. 15 歲又可以自己搭車去街. 唔係將你囡囡日日屈0係親戚屋企, 佢唔悶死都好難唔自閉喔 @@||||

我個仔仔只有2歲半, 細b仲未出世, 其實我爸爸2000年已申請左我去美國, 當時佢只係持綠咭, 我相信等多幾年就排到, 但係我係用未婚子女身份入紙, 到現在我都無註冊, 因為怕影響個申請, 現在最大問題係大仔今年會讀k1, 是否應該比佢讀國際學校會好嗎?我怕佢大d去美國會否跟唔上...?有無其他在美國既媽咪比d意見我!

你爸爸做左公民未? 如果已經係, 佢用公民身份再入過紙apply你, 你會快好多排到, 因為INS有唔同quota 比公民 and 綠咭, 排唔同既隊架. 由其如果你仍是用未婚身份去apply. 會快d.

我覺得你唔需要担心你大仔嘅英文程度而入国際大学.反而俾佢学好中文仲好.因為佢去美国後只需一、兩年就可以pick up好d英文,但佢就冇乜机会enhance中文嘅水準.我住响NY,好多媽咪都俾佢哋小朋友假日学中文.而我sister-in-law係竹昇,学咗6年中文淨係識讀newspaper嘅headline.我細佬仲差,佢小学６年級時移民US.之後冇学過中文所以十幾年後連中文餐單都睇唔明.佢連我爸爸媽咪嘅中文名都唔識寫.我覺得e個係佢嘅損失.
