Although Hennessy PM links to QC, there are not too many students enter to QC (below 40) every year. For RC, the % to go to RC secondary is around 80%.

RC Secondary is not as good as QC but it is still a band 1 English school, so if you don't mind to pay school fee, I think RC is better.

If you are confident that your kid can achieve band 1 result, why not hennessy to get into QC, band 1 in RC can go to their secondary section, by RC and QC are not of same rank...

Raimondi college primary section will be moved to Wan Chai next year. The location is exactly behind Wah Yan College Hong kong. You can take advantage of the School net in applying QC. This year QC offers 75 places for open place allocation.

Besides, RCPS is one of the school in town that offers 'Gifted Education Pull-out Programme'.

BTW, QC only reserve 22 places for Hennessy AM/PM. Out of that, the Hennessy students are allocated through open place allocation

If you have confidence your kid can become top 10% best performing students, many information shows that he can go to QC. As I know, Hennessary have at least 3X students enter QC in recent years.

I personally prefer Hennessy.

This year, some of the students ranked top five but still cannot get an interview in the application of QC discretionary place. Due to two choice in selection of secondary school, most gifted children in Kowloon side also apply QC. Not sure whether this situation will carry on in the coming years.

At the stage of central allocation, there is no difference between top5 or top 20% in the band 1. The critical factor for success in getting QC place is whether there is enough open place for allocation and you have the lucky number.

Comparatively, Raimondi primary has a wider choice so that you can figure out your child's character, learning progress, etc in the six year of primay school life and make the choice until last minute.

RC Primary is private school. Will students follow the same rules to join the lucky draw? (I am not sure the rules of this allocation game...) Can anyone help to provide more information?

Yes, all of local Primary Six student (not include ESF and International school) can enter the lucky draw unlesss she is offered a place at discretionary stage or by a direct subsidy school. So there is no exception for RC primary.

Meanwhile, most of RC primary student apply King's college and RC secondary.

you can see the % of going to QC, about 23 out of 100 boys! The kid needs to work hard, the situation is a bit similar to St. Jo.

It seems that top 30% boys in Hennessy will go to QC, top 30% St. Jo Primary will go to St. Jo secondary, what abt RC? top 75% go to their secondary (direct relationship)? (heard that it is less competitive than St. Jo, so I assume the percentage should be higher). Is this understanding correct?

Last year 17X st. jo primary students enter st jo. sec (around 65% of total primary student). RC intake similar % of primary student.

*Not sure whether RC will expand class in future since there are more space will be reliefed at Robinson Road site.

it seems to me RC have better chance to go to their secondary, the rationale behind is : for st. jo, 65% is correct if based on P.6 student no., if based on P.1 (311), it's only 56% - st. jo's drop out rate is quite high (311-270)= 41 --> nearly 13% students have left st. jo before going to P.6 (!) in RC, the number is on the contrary, P. 1 is 145 increasing to P. 6, 200, taking in 38% more students (!)

This is very interesting, does anyone know why this happens? Thanks.

The fact is that RC primary is cutting class (4 classes each year) to prepare for through-train linkage with secondary.
So there will be plenty of space for expansion in secondary school. However, the chance for getting P.1 place will be less.
