Hi everyone,

幸運地RC and CAIS都收了小兒, 現在不知道應該怎樣選擇, 當然RC無論規模和校舍都比CAIS強, 但我想知的是學術水平方面和師資方面而學生在RC是否真的能學到流利而又沒有中國口音的英文呢? 因我在帶小兒去interview的時間剛好放小息, 我見很多小朋友都是說廣東話而也沒有老師阻止, 有可能學生太多老師也不能照顧那麼多, 當然有些說英語.

至於CAIS我所知的也不多, 希望各位可以給我一些意見,

RC policy is they won't stop the children from speaking their mother tongue in the campus. Which I don't think i would affect their English proficiency as 80% of their school days are still on English.

I think language is only one thing to consider. RC is different from CAIS very much in cirriculum, RC is using IB, CAIS is Canadian, so choosing which school depends on the future planning for the kid.

Besides, CAIS is a Christian school which teaches Christian's values, so more suitable for Christians.

RC 中文點 strong？

唔知點解，我總覺得好多間 IS 都強調自己有中文學，
又話會點教，但係我覺得實際未必真係會咁 effective。
耀中夠話自己中文課程強啦，但係小朋友中文唔見得真係好。

唉，都選擇得國際學校，中文這個 factor 都係算啦。

但係，其實真係話升學，會唔會其實邊個 curriculum 都冇緊要呢？
IB 可似好國際性，但係加拿大人都會出國讀書，咁佢地都係讀開加拿大 curriculum 咋喎。

Naoko,

The subject is to compare RC vs CAIS, so I only told the difference in curriculum. It is a fact that IBD is more universal than Canadian Diploma.

Besides, it is also a fact that RC's Chinese is stronger than CAIS'. Each school has its own characteristics, different people have different criteria in choosing the right school for one's kid.

I will also consider which school the kid likes more as the kid has to spend 12/13 years time there.

多謝咁多位媽咪的意見, 其實學費都係我考慮之一, 至於仔仔係比較喜歡RC, 因校園大, 設施多, 所以真係頭痛, 對於我來說當然以後咁多年的開支比較重要

Is fee of CAIS a lot lower? I think it is more or less. Actually once you decide to let the kids study in IS, have already prepared to pay so much school fees to exchange for a high quality education. For me, I would rather save more in other areas to pay for the school best for my kid. Good education and happy school life is an asset which is permanent to the kid and that if giving the best I can, I would have no regret to my child. Just my own thoughts.
