九龍塘宣道小學 - 私立﹝全日﹞

Would like to get more information for captioned primary school. So that I can prepare to apply for P.1. in coming year. I have heard this school is quite good. Any requirement for student ? is it need interview student individually?

Would be appreciated if anyone can provide information about this.

Dear ChiChiPaPa,

My daughter is going to P.1 in APS this Sept. Would you please share the proportion of boys/girls in a class? Are there more boys or girls? Is the possibility allocated to Heep Yunn Secondary School high or not?

Moreover, I have a younger son. Will APS consider the factor of sibling in P.1 admission? Please share.

Haileyyu，

除了小三外，所有年級的男女生比例都是6比4。即是男多女少。每級大約有女生60人左右(不計小三，小三有大約80人。只有2004年，學校收生的男女比例不是6比4)。

上年升讀協恩的人數是23人。是除了協恩小學外，最多學生能入讀協恩中學的小學。

弟弟妹妹多數可以入到，但亦有例外，不知是因為面試表現太差，還是哥哥姐姐在學校的表現未如理想。

Hope your kid can be allocated to your "favourite schoo". Is HY your favourite school?

BTW, I know that APS emphasizes much on music learning. My daughter seems not very interest in music but drawing and swimming. Do you know if music learing is a "must" criteria in APS or other ECA encouraged?

我會由囡囡自己選擇喜歡讀的中學。如果她喜歡讀協恩，她就要發力考好成績。在宣小升中，是一個匹配的過程。能力高的，入較好的中學。好成績的學生是考入協恩的，不是派的，因此才能比其他學校有較多學生入到協恩。

在宣小，不學樂器會很可惜，雖然不一定要學。游泳是與泳天合作的，所以只要願花時間練習，一樣可以拿獎項。而美術，雖然學校都有美勞的興趣班，但是如果要拿國際獎項，就要在外面找名師。

I think it must be very competitive to study in APS as I learned from BK that the ranking in class is 3X-4X when the average score is 8X. Then, what is the average score of top ten? 95 or above?

Of course, I admit that students' ability is the most important factor in deciding which secondary school to get in. But, all parents hope their kids can get in a good school, like HY which good at both academic standard and moral development.

每年同每級都不同。如果你想有一個大約的數字，我可以告訴你小一頭一至十名的平均分大約是94，小二是93，小三是92。而第十名的平均分大約是小一93，小二91，小三89。我說的不是今年的確實數字，只是每年大約是這樣。

每樣事情都有兩面。這些數字亦告訴你，雖然主科低過60分會留班，但是在宣小要升班應該係無難度。而高年級，分數相距就會較遠，因為每一年的學習，將會是下一學年的基礎。我相信同學之間的學術能力差距會隨著升上較高年級而增大。

我剛睇完本50週年校刊。有很多老師和學生的文章都很值得睇。我最喜歡Miss Yeung的那一篇，以及家長心聲的那一篇。

Miss Yeung的那一篇很長，但它的開頭是這樣的：

"Good morning, Class" "Good morning, Miss Yeung"
That sounds like the beginning of a typical English class I have. But at Alliance Primary School, Kowloon Tong (APSKT), there is no typical class. Every day is new, every class is special, and every student is unique.

我覺得每名宣小學生都不一樣，不要單看分數來評他們好與壞。分數不會告訴你他的領導才能、他天馬行空的創造力、他日後的處事能力......

對於孩子的發展，我以為他自己的意願和能力最為重要，而不是父母的期望。
