Re: 培正 VS 根德園
pamelaywy,
same situation as you.
from the acceptance letter, Pui Ching ensure all kinder student get the seat in primary school . I read the notice and found this sentence, so it is hard to decide to study at 根德園 or Pui Ching.
If we give up now, the chance to go to Pui Ching Primary is low as only 30 seats available for public. They have 8 class in kinder and 9 class in primary school.
For Pui Ching kinder, Is anyone get the seat from 小拔 ?
I know some of 根德園 student got the offer at 宣道, 宣道also in Chinese.

My son is also accepted by Kentville and Pui Ching. It is really a hard decision to me and my husband. Both of them are famous. After discussing with my husband, we would choose Pui Ching and give up Kentville.... for several reasons..
1. Pui Ching has primary school. Although it is not a must, at least, my son will get a greater opportunity to get into a good primary school three years later. But, for Kentville, we will go to different schools and have interviews again and again three years later. We will have to face great pressure three years later!!!
2. The school fee for Pui Ching is much cheaper than Kentville. With 學券制, we just have to spend about 600-700 for each month, but for Kentville, 2470. As about 1800 is saved, the money can be spent on joining other activities.
3. About English level, I think there would not be a very big difference between kindergartens (except international schools) English may not be highly emphasized in Pui Ching, but I don't think they would neglect English. Moreover, good command of Chinese is equally important -- especially for the days when our sons and daughters grow up. I think if the school emphasizes more in Chinese, I would spend more money, time and effort in teaching my son English. (Just like those who study in international schools, parents would spend time and money on teaching their children Chinese) |
