DBSPD interview
I can share some experiences about DBSPD interview
In the 1st interview, it can be subdivided into 3 parts
1st part - teachers observe the children to play different kinds of toy e.g. Lego.... Their aim is to see whether the child is interested to explore different things and to know a proper way to play them. And, they will observe whether they behave themselves while playing with other children. Moreover, there is corner to have book reading as well. So in this part of interview, just prepare your son to know how to play them properly and behave well. So, don't spend money to interview class but buy more toys to your son instead
2nd part - go into another room to "intervew" with teacher. They show your son a paper full of picture and words for few seconds. Then, they will be asked to recite what they can memorize. This is to test their short term memory ability. Also, they will show a few unrelated pictures and make a story about them to test their creative thinking.
3rd part - go into a room showing a movie. Teachers will observe they can sit quietly and can concentrate to watch. This is to test their concentration ability
In the second interview, this is a test to your family as a whole. You, parents, will be asked some simple questions about your son and it is just to show whether you perpare well and really understand your son. Even the time is short, try to quote some examples to explain your thinking. You will be asked to go out and "test" your son alone. The child will be shown a picture and asked to describe the picture. Then interviewer will ask some questions "behind" the picture and the reason. e.g. a picture showing a family including a dog to have a trip and child will be asked whether the dog will have the trip as well and why you think so. This will test the child's ability of reasoning. Finally, the child will be asked to do simple task after some instructions .e.g. to take 5 red triangles and 6 yellow circles to make a thing that you can think of. This will test the ear-hand-eye coordination and their creative thinking.
Hope these information can help all those parents targeted at DBSPD |
