Very informative. Do you have a full list of schools which have already had official mid-year programmes and those intend to follow IB, so that I can have a comparison of syllabus between HKUGA and them?

Very few secondary schools adopt MYP now.  MYP is a newer program started only from 1994.  You can take reference from Creative Secondary School at TKO, Victoria (VSA) or ESF Renaissance College.  They have details of MYP on website.

May I know the school fee of this school?  from other threads, I learnt that running IB programe is very very expensive, want to know if HKUGA is a successful DSS model.  It is running IB, isn't it? thanks.

Dear Stevema and other parents,

Updated information from the school's homepage:

Tuition fee for S1 is HK$27,000 per year. Students in need can apply for financial assistance. There is also a scholarship scheme for outstanding students.

中一的學費為每年二萬七千元。 學校設有學費減免及獎學金計劃。

Open Day
2nd December, 2006 (Saturday)
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Seminars on S1 Admission
1st Session:  25th November, 2006 (Saturday) - 2:00 p.m.  
2nd Session:  25th November, 2006 (Saturday) - 4:00 p.m.

Any parents of HKUGC know how is the IB curriculum for senior forms going to be implemented?  Will they offer HK curriculum together with the IB curriculum as a choice for students?

As it is a new school, could you tell us more concerning this school? Such as the school life, learning atmosphere, conduct of the student, academic standard and the standard of teachers etc. Thanks a lot!

有朋友話個仔喺度讀得好開心，功課不算多，但成日有project 及回家做實驗。數學就好似分不同程度教(分班)。聽聞D家長好多係教育界人士。我都想去聽吓佢地的簡介會(我個女四年班)。唔知BK家長有冇人去過或預備去。

係唔係$22000一年, 出年多$5000, 即係$27000一年呀?

剛剛在港大同學會書院個網見到 - 2 0 0 7 – 2 0 0 8 中一學費為每年二萬七千元.

I heard that they are using books from overseas?  Are there really no Hong Kong published textbooks?  What kind of homework will teachers give to students?  Are they very different from traditional schools?
