有無家長有心得? 小兒07年入讀小一, 現就讀St. Joseph 幼稚園. 但只有15分 (無宗教分). 但爸爸是番禺會所的會員, 有額外5分. 如果自行收生選St. Joseph, 一定不得, 但如果填華仁, 有少許機會, 但學位少, 怕萬一不得, 在統一派位時又落空, 會否俾St. Joseph覺得欠缺誠意因自行收生無選佢. 如果你係我, 應該點呢 ??

舊年有個St. Jo 幼稚園既媽咪選華仁，
校方真係有搵佢傾計…. 我諗對叩門呢…. 怕會唔好印象。

During a public talk given to parents last year, the principal of Hennessy Rd. Govt. School (a.m. or p.m. forgotten) expressly stated that one of her criteria in considering the 'knock on door application' was the applicant MUST HAVE chosen her school in the 1st and 2nd round of the game.

By analogy, if you choose St. Joseph, you may have a better last chance in case you fail in the lucky draw game as your son is a graduate of its own kinder.

Dear LLT,
If my son gets only 15 marks for both schools, will u still consider to choose St.Joseph as 1st choice (for both round of the game), rather than Wan Yan? Is it only because St.Joseph has more seats than Wan Yan, so better chance?

Dear JodiYang,

My answer is a 'yes'. When you play the lucky draw game, it is somewhat like gambling and you put your bet on the choice which has the greatest chance to win (do I sound like a professional gambler

).

Ming Pao yesterday reported that St. Joseph has two extreme records at the moment, one of which is it has the greatest number of primary students in Hong Kong, a total of 8 classes in each grade.

Many parents like Wah Yan (including myself) and St. Joseph, but fear the pressure to their kids in the latter (this might only be a rumour until your kid has gone through it).

I could envisage that many parents who like both the two schools would eventually have chosen Wah Yan as their 1st choice, and this further significantly enhances the chance of success for St. Joseph.

This is why I chose St. Joseph and succeeded.

By way of supplement, my son feels so happy at St. Joseph up to this point of time (only a few days) and is eager to go to school everyday. He just doesn't know the hell may be awaiting him ahead!
