My girl is gonna be FS1 this coming Sept, about the "uniform" requirement... do any parent knows if "one-piece dress" is allowed? Because my girl is kinda fatty, so T-shirt + Trousers is some what trouble for her due to her fatty belly... And the school bag... is it really have to be single color (my girl is hoping to get a hello kitty one, but i have not say a word regarding that so far)?

Also, she has requested me to prepare her lunch-box rather than ordering lunch box in school. I am more than happy to do so, yet, I am thinking of letting her try the school lunch for a month, then start switch to home made lunch, so that she can tell the difference and choose... My question is, is the lunch box in Logos well? how's the portion?

Dear Waterdrop,

Welcome to join the Logos!

I guess the reasons for the school encouraging students to dress in plain-coloured clothing and brought school-bags not in fashion are:

(a) to encourage prudence, natural and 純樸簡約;
(b) to set a good image for the students and the school;
(c) to avoid fashion-show or  競逐名牌.

Students are encouraged to dress in trousers because kids are active and they are so young that not necessary to set up a 性別標纖.  Moreover, the students will always be advised to sit on grounds especially during morning assembly.  I did not see a girl dressed in dress.  However, I'm not sure if it is feasible to let your girl to dress in dress.  May be you can discuss with the 教職員 direct.

Concerning the lunch, I do think that to have it ordered by the school is the most convenient way.  It saves us time and travelling.  The lunch box is prepared by a trustworthy agent which has served many schools including SFAEPS.  According to my son, the content and taste are pretty good.  You can have a choice in advance from 4 sets of lunch box daily.  During lunch time, the 飯長 of the class will distribute the lunch boxes to the classmates.  It is also a good lesson to the kids to mind their table manners.  Moreover, by taking the ordered lunch box at school it might be able to train up the kids not to so much 偏食。

i understand the reason of the requirement... yet, it is just my gal's size is quite very really round...

so it is not easy la...

But yes, I will try to get the stardard clothing for her, perhaps it can make her realises it is time to have her belly "under control" la.. (hopefully~) Is there any shop or any company that Logos' parent are recommanded? Thanks!!!

About the lunch, you do have a very good point, to give her training of attitude toward food... (and i dont have to wake up before 6am in this way then la)

歡迎加入真道! 今天行街, 發現bossini有特價反領T-shirt $49. 一件, 得閒就幫個女入貨, 有時候行開街, 見到有平貨就要幫d 仔女買定, 必要時買大一個碼, 留番下年著,哈哈!
至於lunch, 如果有時間, 當然自備愛心飯盒最好, 學校飯盒都唔錯, 幫手做義工時, 我都有試過, d同學分比我食, 都好好味, 不過好多同學都食唔洒!

我囡囡也喜歡穿裙子，但一星期只可穿1-2次，因為：

(1)每星期有2堂體育課(穿運動褲可方便做運動)；
(2)學校附近有很多山坡及草地，故在春/夏季有不少蚊子飛來「探訪」小朋友，所以穿褲子較安全；
(3)囡囡較為好動，時常碰碰撞撞，穿裙子較容易擦傷。

希望這些意見對你有幫助。1/9真道見！

Thanks alot!!

The little hences is very useful, i will convince my gal, and perhaps tailor make some trousers for her... (as it is just difficult to get right size for her in the shop), she's of course 6, but size for 8 still sometimes not big enough for her, size for 10 is too long...

About the mosquito, is it really a big probelm? i mean, do i need to prepare any prevention (cream/ sticker for anti-bug)?
aigh... so worry la...
finally, is there ought to be a "parents' day" before 1/09? for confirming the school bus, lunch arrangement...etc..? I still have not received any call or letter regarding it...

Hi waterdrop,
以我經驗, 我會每朝幫個仔搽蚊怕水, 比定支防蚊膏放在書包, 提佢食完飯再搽, (蚊怕水驚d小朋友亂咁濆) 會比較好.
您個女是否遲通知收佢? 因為parents day好似在暑假前已做左, 至於校巴, 午飯最好打電話問校務處

I have attened the parent day in June also, but they schoolbus n lunch issue was not confirm at that time, they have told us after gathering info about how many students are taking school bus, they will give us further information in August, and we shall confirmed then accordingly...
but i will call the school to check on these...

Please refer to the School web site, there will be a parent meeting for all newly admitted FS 1 parents on 26 Aug 2006 p.m. I guess you could ask the teachers there about the guidelines for the school bag and uniform.

Dear Waterdrop and all new Logos parents,
Welcome to the Logos family!
With regard to the uniform issue, I would like to inform you all that the order forms will be distributed to parents on Aug. 26. Those who wish to order may fill out the form and submit it to the office. Since the first batch of uniforms are under production at the moment, the colors available for selection may be limited. Or, you may choose to buy from elsewhere as long as the outfits comform to the school's dress code.
