Re: 何文田維多利亞幼稚園難考嗎?
Hello,
My daughter is studying in Victoria. The campus is new, but the teachers are experienced. The Net may change since they are hired via contract.
1) Every corner is well decorated with meaningful, colourful and stimulating items. The kids, whom are led by the teachers, go around the campus once a day. I think this is good since they can move around and get used to the environment. They sing happily while they walk.
If you take care of your kid by yourself, you must realise that it's not realistic to keep the kid sit down properly all day. They will not pay attention to what you say/teach all the time.
2) The kids in each class will perform on stage before Christmas. It's a really good experience and achievement for them. Even though the kids as small as 2 years old or 2 yrs some mths, they practise and dress up to celebrate the holiday. They sing and dance in the community hall facing all the parents. I think even some adults may not be brave enough to do so.
3) You can easily talk with the vice-principal. She goes around the campus sometimes. Before and after the lessons, she may be close to the door area to welcome the kids.
The school is open to you. You can see the primary allocation, the teachers' background, the snack table, etc on the notice. There are website, TV outside the school, the indoor playground and the library. Compared to other famous kindergardens, I know nothing about them. I just hear many people saying that the primary allocation is good. However, no formal figure is announced and the ratio may not be high. Also, I can't make sure whether those kinder are specially good, because their students are learning diff. things all the time by themselves.
4) Jolly phonics is taught. If you learn new things happily, it'll strengthen the memory.
To sum up, seeing is believing. If my kid is interested to learn new things, I'll let her try in spite of the age.
On the other hand, if she can't do it, I'll let her try later. No need to push her.
Hope this can help ! |
