Dear All parents,
I feel very angry and frustrated by the HK Government's attitude and lack of public funding for the special education. Worse, HKG is reducing the public fund in this aspect. If Sir Donald Tsang (Chief Exec of HKG) see the Time Magazine (May 2006) reporting the training and education for autistic children in USA, he and his HKG's policy makers should feel guilty and shame for the lack of public fund and lack of heart for special needed-children.
In USA, some public schools even provide 1 to 1 (teacher-to-autistic child) ratio. The USA Government indeed allocate huge public fund for each special needed children. Also, the teacher looking after the autistic child is at bachelor degree level specialising in special education and/or therapy for these children. These teachers are definitely well trained before they can got to handle these children. But, we see, what HKG's policy makers done to-date?
In HK, not mentioning the insufficient training for the school teachers, the workload for the teachers have been extremely heavy...
I think we parents should do a BLOG seriously criticizing the Sir Donald Tsang and his HKG's policy makers for lack (or none) of effort/heart for our children. They are simply very mean (or not generous enough) about public fund for special needed-children.
