I want to know too.  ltse, does your kid being accepted by both schools?  Is it difficult being admitted by ESF QBS?  Any tips?  Since Victoria is having new campus, it seems very attractive; and there's Chinese syllabus; sounds good, but somehow doesn't have much talk in BK!!  Anyone can share?

The ESF is QBS.  Actually, my son is studying in Victoria.  His English is quite good even he only have 4.5 years old.  I havn't give him any preparation and training beforehand.  Because I submitted the application form in Feb (late submission), then I just rec'd a call from ESF to call for Monday interview last Friday.  So, I just told a story about ESF and let him to know more about this school, etc....  Then, I talked to him in english and remind him can't speak Chinese during the interview and we arrived school.  And make sure hold the teacher's hand and happy to answer all questions.  My son's character is a bit shy and he told me the teacher was playing the puzzel with him, and let the childs to draw a picture.  And also ask him about the members of family and where he lives.  I don't know this is a tips or not, but hope can help you.

Thank you so much for your detailed reply.  So, your son is now studying  K2 and accepted by ESF QBS and go to P1 in the coming Sept.  And by that time he'll be only 5 yrs old.  If not, will be staying at Victoria for K3.  Is that right?  By the way, is the interview one-to-one, or one/two teacher to a small group of kids?  Thank you in advance.

Actually my son is small boy, he born in the Dec of 2001.  So he's studying the K1.  Now, he will studying to P1 in the coming Sept.  Because no matter which class/grade you study before, international schooly count the age only.  As my son is going to 5 years old this year end, so he will study to P1 directly in ESF-QBS.

In the interview, the two teachers called 6 childrens together for interview in a small room of other floors.  I and my hubby only stays in the lobby for one hour until my boy back.  I don't know how many child are passed in the interview, I only know some childs is japanese and korean also.

Itse,

Do you know what's the English and Chinese standard in Victoria Primary?  If you choose ESF, English will be very good but Chinese is very minimal.

About Victoria Primary, actually I don't know anything, I only know which is a English Primary school, not international primary school.  If want to child speak the english like the foreign-kid, Of course cannot if study in Victoria I think.  

For ESF, I am going to find some chinese class & mandarin class for my kid to fill the gap of ESF.  For my side, I really want my child can read & speak Chinese, like myself.  Now, hope my decision is right.  And hope less pressure from local school, then have more fun from P1 of ESF.

Yes.....ESF.
You know my kid studied K1 only and jump to Year 1 of ESF.  In his kindergarten schoollife, only have 1 year.  Actually I want he has more fun from kindergarten, like school birthday party, sing more chinese kid-song, etc....

Studying at ESF is also fun too.

Not sure about QBS, KJS celebrate birthday with P1 pupils too.

How strict is the school life in QBS?  

My son's class teacher is from QBS.  I do not find him strict but he is capable to manage disciplines.

Primary school is obviously a more advanced stage than kindergarten, kids are expected to be able to take care of themselves and be more disciplined.  In ESF, class discipline is quite good and is required as there are 30 students in one class.  There are still a lot of fun in ESF primary learning and there are a lot more to learn than in kinder.
