It seems 古箏 is more easier to learn than piano, because 古箏 only need to read a single line, but learn piano need to read both left & right hand and also use the foot (Pedal). Piano can take the exam by ABRSM/Trinty while 古箏 can take the exam by Shanghai music school, Piano is more common. But I think you better ask your daughter which one she perfer and interest.
