| First, the psychologist will talk to the parents to understand the daily behaviour of the child. Then the child will have the assessment with the psychologist alone. Then the result (to normal school / special school) will be known right after. Therefore, I don't know the exact questions raised. But the psychologist told me my son refused to write some very simple character (人, 大) and asked the psychologist to teach him. Also there are around 30 chinese characters, very simple (山, 海, 大, 小, 田, 日) for my son to read but no response from him. The psychologist said since your son cannot write and read, this is one of the reasons why she recommended he should go to the special primary school. So the most important is whether our children are willing to co-operate during the assessment and whether the psychologist is care enough. |
