My son was a shy boy. He was afraid to meet and speak to strangers. When he was 4.5 year old he was not so afraid and he can now speak and introduce himself to strange persons.
The trick is simple but a long training process. All you need to do is to increase his exposure to different people and environment.
You can bring him to playgroup or let him join different activities, say on a weekly basis. Once he get used to the playgroup, you may consider to change to another one. One day you will see the magic after he has increased his confidence and get used to meeting new faces. |
