Re: 聖若瑟(堅尼地道那間)

Competition is keen no matter which school you are from. Even St. Jo primary only have half can go back to secondary. 24 open seats for outsiders! A lot of freedom is given to students, so if your son is self initiative then it's not bad. Most of the time students have to prepare on their own. 2 tests and 2 exams a year but you can't imagine each test or exam lasts for 2 weeks! It's quite exhausted for both parents and children. Competition among boys are keen too because all your marks, class ranking, grade ranking are all listed on the report card, even it's music or P.E.! And most of the subjects' result are posted in classroom too, so everyone knows the scoring of each other so pressures among boys themselves are high! Positive looking, they will push themselves to work hard, but negative sides are boys may not be able to face these challenge and look down on their own. Parents will push boys if they see all the truth on the report card. But I feel most of the Josephians are the 1st type. Boys are very confident since school give them lots of chances to participate in lots of activities, give them free hand to organize, to complete on their own. It's a very good learning path to them. Not those 讀死書type! Too many activities after school so you can find active boys everywhere in St. Jo! No shy boys at all! And they are all very proud to be Josephians! |
