Can't get into GHS's website these two days. Don't know when they will hold the interview.
Last year, the deadline for submitting the application form was19 Nov. and the date of interview was 11 Dec.(only one Saturday morning for the interview). About 80 applicants were shortlisted for interview and 40 discretionary places were available last year.This year, the process is approx. one month later than previous year.
The selection criteria last year were:
Portfolio: 40%(academic 15%,non-academic 15%, conduct 10%)
Stuident's interview: English 25%
Maths. & Logic 25%
Parents' interview: 10%
For students' interview, they divided the students into groups of 4. Each group were interviewed by two teachers. For Maths. & Logic, the teacher wrote down the mathematical questions on a card and asked the students to give the answers verbally in English. For English part, they further divided the students into two pairs. Each pair were given a piece of paper showing a dialogue. The students were required to follow the dialogue to speak with each other.
For parents' interview, there were about 4 to 5 different pairs of interviewers. You would be allocated to the particular pair when you registered at the reception desk. During the interview, the two interviewers would discuss with you about the portfolio, the ways you develop your child, his/her strengths and weaknesses, how you know about GHS. It lasted about 10 to 15 minutes.
