KTS & Tsung Tsin, which one will you choose?

Dear mums & dads,

My daughter has been admitted by both KTS and Tsung Tsin.   How would you choose?  Can you help?

I appreciate that the academic standard of KTS is very high, with 70% band one students.

Tsung Tsin has got a lot of ECAs with school bus available for ECAs. They have a lot of native English teachers and high percentage of native English lessons including oral and reading lessons and use Putonghua for Chinese lessons with native Putonghua teachers.  It also has an EMI secondary school but is very new.

Do you know if KTS has high percentage of native English speaking teachers?  Do you think it will make a difference with such native English speakers?

Please advise.  Thank you.

I am prefer KTS due to its better managment & well organizied.  Tsung Tsin showed their mess that day when my kids did interview.

Any other comments?  Why do I only have one response?  Isn't the answer too simple?  or what?  To me it is a big dilemma.

In term of shool networks, I like KTS because most of the famous schools locating in Kowloon Tong/Kowloon City.

However, for the method of teaching, I was inpressed by Tsun Tsin. The school is able to train up our kid in a confident way with good language foundation.

So, please ask your kid, which school he/she likes the most as I think it is indifferent.

My son's in Tsung Tsin for 4 yrs. They teach Chinese in Cantonese, not manderin. Students have oppotunity to train up their English as they have international class and therefore more native English speaking teachers. For main stream students, not much homework to do this one to two years. Guess probably because they have through train secondary school, they don't have much pressure in secondary school allocation.

for KTS, I have no idea. sorry. If you want to know more about Tsung Tsin, I'm happy to share.

I would like to know more about TT.  It stated at their website that they teach Chinese in PTH.  Is it true?? and did your kid also good at PTH as well? please comment more.

The principal Doctor Tam said in a talk that they have just started PTH teaching in Chinese lessons for P.1 (or even P2?).  Higher level students above P.1 (or P2?) do not have PTH as a medium of instruction in Chinese lessons.

They do encourage students to speak more English and PTH at recess time.  According to my son, teachers speak Cantonese in class, so do the students. For PTH, sometimes, they read some Chinese Pinyin, my son has a copy of a Pinyin version for their Chinese textbook. So far, the Pinyin version is not part of their 考試範圍. And they have a subject of "普通話“ which is the only subject tought by native speaker. That's all about their PTH. so, in terms of PTH, not much different from other schools, I think. My son's PTH is just so-so. He is in main stream class, not sure about Chinese for International class.
