Re: Kingston or HLYIS
Dear Joenkm,
Really? That was quite sad. There's a kid who has down symdrome in my daughter's class, but they have never asked her to repeat wor. They are very caring to her (treat her like normal kid)..umm..May be the reason why they asked your friend's kid to repeat was because they thought he/she couldn't listen or absorb anything before seeking treatment...that's why they asked the kid to repeat?
May be it wasn't because of the physical disability thing...it was because the parent or the kid didn't know about the hearing problem at first, and after the teacher realized there was a problem, the teacher encouraged the parent to have the kid repeated so to make up the time the kid wasn't hearing / learning well. You think this was the case? Did your friend finally find out if her kid really had a hearing problem? Or it was only the teacher's opinion?
My kid has been going to HLYIS since Tot's club (play group), and they love the school very much. However, they will switch school in December because of the British system thing. We are American Chinese, and sooner or later our kids will go back to the states for future education...that's why i need to have them switched to an American system Int. School. If it wasn't because of this, I wouldn't consider switching..because I like HLYIS very much. I still feel bad for switching them, but I guess this is the best way for them...
