I understand you (and other parents) love DBSPS very much and agasint my will, therefore I am not surprised that you advises going to DBSPS only, regardless of the respective probabilities of success into these 2 schools. If two schools are weighted similarly, I think different answers come out. My responses are in brackets below.
1. I am not kidding but serious. Have you read my story of the late but success case? Go to the link below and read my story, then you will find that late does not mean no chance. It is a mere individual case but what we are now talking about is the general rather than the particular lucky. Indisputably in the early stage of P1 application for all private and DSS schools, the competition for all of them is keen and nobody could guarantee to secure a seat, however when the date for 9月1曰 draw near, a number of successful applicants would drop out for some reason this phenomenon is particular obvious for some private or DSS schools (TSL being one of them).
(My son's case is by luck? It is contrary to what you stated that in the early stage of P1 application for all private and DSS schools, the competition for all of them is keen. 
Some cases of drop out in TSL do not mean every body have a chance as the demand on it is still much bigger than its supply this year. Why do you think siuwa (and parents of similar situation) has second chance to TSL? I recalled that every year many parents knocked the door of TSL but failed. TSL likes to take foreign kids or those studying at TAYSF Kindergarten. It even rejected a number of candidates with elder brothers/sisters studying there in the first round.)
2. Let me ask you a question: 假如你是校長, 你會選個乖巧但遲到的, 還是選個頑劣而早到的? 遲到是家長問題, 現在是選小朋友,不是選家長.
當然, 我不是校長,只能以常理推測. 你也可以說家長的誠意亦會被考慮. 但事實上, 9月1日來上課的才算是真正誠意!
yes, 假如我是校長, 我一定會選個一開始就给我第一印象不差的, 試想想,一開始就遲到, 個第一印象會有幾好??? 再者 遲到是家長問題, DBSPD 是一間 |
