Judy001 is right, if your kids likes it and can manage to practice them both. My kid just learn piano, I have to remind him EVERY day to practice....
My girl is less than 5, she is now leaning both piano and cello. Both in good progress. I think it is really depends on how much interest is your child upon each instrument and his/her enthusiasm towards music...
