You start on 珠心算 classes for your son la ? 
For 自組班, I think your problem will be in continuity.
The experience with my son's class in TST YMCA was, at first there were 1x kids, but in the classes for the last level there, (the 6th level of lessons, 11-12 lessons under each level), only 3 kids were left.
4 kids during the previous level.
And there is really no need for small classes ga, the larger the no. the better - kids will compare among themselves who has the most no of sums correct, not so much need for individual attention.
In the beginning I used a Chicco bb "maths calculator" to help my son understand x+x, count no. of beads. Be prepared to give your son 1-2 whole days of your time to start him off properly.
