Ooops! I am really puzzled if you told me that a kindergarten baby can handle 3 digit additions. (eg. 125 + 36 = ?) Is it real?

Hey, just do a statistic... any BK child can handle this? I am really interested to know the answer!

各位,
請留意，一個上午安排千幾人interview，考生(小朋友)是可去toilet，為保持衛生起見，家長在等待小朋友的時間可自由出入，學校都是為學生為主。

我唔記得要去取表，應該可以download.

至於交表則需要排個多小時，要在校外輪候可能是最氣人的安排。

至於考試，由於之前自己有教過仔仔多位加減數，好彩過關。另其實所有不面見父母的學校都要等小朋友考試，我想大可以去食個早餐彧飲杯咖啡，不用呆在學校等吧！

SFA is famous in their maths academic result, that's why they prefer boys than girls.

But I am also curious how a little kid can do sum up w/ 3 digits.

are the kinders will teach them during K2? (if in K3 time is not enough for this exam)

moreover, how to teach them to read the questions? I really want the moms from SFA help in this area

Just come across this Forum, this is my sharing and experience.

My son applied this school last year.  No need to queue up for getting a form because the form can be download from school website.

There was really a long queue for submitting the form.  If you need not to have a very earlier time of Exam, then no need to rush for submitting the form.
The school will keep open and receive all the application form.  Last year, the closing time is around 3-4pm.  But of course, the later time submit, the later time for interview.  My son got the interview time at 12:00pm.

No need to puzzle on the EXAM papers, like the 125 + 36 = ?  I think no one would answer all paper correctly.  I think the school would accept candidates with higher marks.

Please do not give any pressure to your kids, try to ask your kid to answer as precise as possible.

ALSO, upon the completion of EXAM, do not ask them if you are able to answer the paper.  May ask them if you have enough time to do it, or Where shall we go eat / shopping toys?

Does any parent know if english oral question(s) could be asked, like What is your favoriate animal ?, What season is it?, Where do you live with ?, etc.

I remember in last year, my friend's son applied both DBS and SFA; and their interviews was the same date and unluckily, on the same morning (if she submit SFA's form late, then SFA's interview time would be in afternoon and that would not had problems).

Anyway, my friend went to attend DBS's interview and at the same time phoned SFA to tell them her son was sick and asked for the interview time to postpone to afternoon. SFA said no, but my friend begged hard. Finally, SFA did allowed her son to interview in the afternoon.

That boy did not get a seat (not even in the waiting list) at both schools but in late August his father begged hard to both schools and SFA offered a seat.

I would like to supplement my early message:

I did downloaded the application form from SFA's web site. I remember I went to SFA very early (8:30 am) to submit the form but had to queue up outside SFA for an hour. Why not submit latter? it was because the earlier you submit, the earlier the interview time slot to be allocated. I didn't want my daughter to attend the interview in the sleepy afternoon.

I am still angry for being asked to use public toilet. Afterall, we are all potential customers of SFA. I think letting the parents to use the toilets in the school will not cause much problems. If the school worries about hygene problems, they should arrange their workers to clean the toilets more frequently on the days of interview, rather than not letting parents to use their toilets.

我相信有咁嘅小朋友，但是極少數。相信SFA收曬所有的試卷，都只發現一两位會做。

其實又何須介懷幾多個位加幾多個位呢,以平常心去試下又何況呢(若認同此校的)?考到就多一個選擇,考唔到的咪多一個經驗,盡力以為吧!

I think SFA is just want to dig out those talents from their long candidate list(... there exists though very few)!

You have any special training program? Or, he used Abacus-mental calculation?

係呀，今時今日世界難撈，呢幾年反而唔俾potential customers用toilet，真係打得小。

其他的都可以忍，尿不可以忍，尿急起來，谷尿上腦，實憎死你。輕則記住一两年，谷得紧要嗰的，實唱你成世。

St. Cat kinder will collect forms and send to SFA in batch. So really no need to queue up to submit application form. For other parents, as discussed in this forum last year the average waiting time is 1.5 hours. [ Any one want to know why St. Cat has such privilege?! ]

I believe SFA's curriculum is the toughest amongst all primary school in HK (even harder than APS) so if your kid is not able to handle the format and depth of entrance examination, pls take very serious consideration in putting yr kid into it. It is indeed a very very good school but it is too pressurized to kids.

因為SFA 唔係我最心怡嘅學校，只係想作為 back-up，所以無刻意 train up 佢，就當去試吓佢嘅能力。
跟據囝囝講，做完paper 之後，有老師問咗佢幾個問題，用英文，跟住就出黎啦！

It is the demand and supply theory that there are so many students asking for a seat and they never worry they have not enough students. Also they won't treat their students as customers as they are not asking for high school fee and make big money on it.

With such quality and only charge less than $2000 school fee, maybe they think it is the student who gain from learning there.

I know someone's kids studying there and their standard are very high but if your kids are their type, they can still very happy.

要做customer就選其他某些私校, 直資, 甚至國際學校好了. 用呢d心態放在SFA上, 簡直愚昧至極.
