我對香港的大學只憑感覺，排名位置跟你所列的差不多。不過當年阿仔只報咗UST, 因佢有個program係MechE +AI, 好吸引。IB CO只係34。

你講嘅有些道理，不過局限在整體感覺。

但去到正式mechanical engineering工作，例如E&M consultancy ，就未必啦。
