I am a father of 3 bilingual (mixed race) girls and an English Teacher. In my experience from my career as a teacher who teaches phonics as well as other English courses to various age groups, I have come to the conclusion that learning two ( in my daughter's case, 3 languages: English, Cantonese and Putonghua) that having such a diverse and wide range of exposure to phonetic variations may have a longer duration of learning curve but helps to enrich them in the diversity and use of language and sound
for better hearing and comprehension abilities, especially in the long term. Besides, it helps to train their ear as well as increase intelligence and their language centres of the brain. If anyone would want any tips or more on my opinion, please feel free to PM me. |
