To study in a far away private school-Good Hope School

Last week, I made a very important decision, I gave up my local district 1st choice school and accepted the private Good Hope School for my daughter.

I gave up a free school very near my home and choose an expensive school far away from my home. I am living in Tsuen Wan but GHS is at Clear water Bay Road.

I hope my decision is correct. By the way, any one of you also have your daughter studying in GHS but living far away from it. Any big trouble travelling to school? Can you share you experience. Thanks.

My friend also lived in Tsuen Wan and her daughter went to Good Hope. She felt fine with it.

I have also choose Good Hope for my daughter.
We live in TST, last time I take a taxi to there need around 40 mins.

I know there is a school car that will stop at downstairs.  The time to pick up is one
and half hour earlier.  I think they made buffer in case of traffic jaming or let the child have some spare time before staring the lesson.

The reasons are:

1. GHS is a better school than all the schools in my local district.

2. GHS has a "through train" secondary school.  I don't like to compete for secondary school place again six years latter.

3.  GHS is a private school, therefore it is less influenced by the ever changing school policy from the Government.

4.  Luckily, I can afford GHS's school fees.

The only thing I am worrying now is the long distance between my home and the school.

You have made the right decision. Don't worry. Help your kid get through the first few years and it will be smooth sailing afterwards.

1. I also live in Tsuen Wan
2. I also choose Good Hope
3. I also give up the place in Kwai Ming Wu.

I am very happy that my daughter will have a school mate living in Tsuen Wan. My daughter is very easy to make friends. May be our daughters will be friends too when they travel the long journey in the school bus.

明智的抉擇！
去年小女派往第二志願聖家，轉校至今無悔。小女很喜歡、很享受德望的學校生活。

哈哈！如無意外，她將會做小師姐了！

既然學校各方面都很好,囡囡又考到,當然是最好,不過長遠計讀12年,我想不如搬近d(這是較容易控制,而且現在樓市甘活躍),始終學校離家太遠,都是不太方便!

1.學校很多課外活動都不便參加

2.浪費很多交通時間

3.長時間舟車勞動對身體都不好 :cry:
4.小朋友頭暈身慶要接返屋企都好煩
5.早上miss左校車都唔知點算?
我以前都是住荃灣,自從個仔在九龍區升小學後,我們搬近了學校,我覺得很值得!

I am seriously considering to move nearer to school. However, I have to balance everything, such as my wife's working location (Lai King), my working location (Homantin), property price (luckily, my flat is not a negetive asset) etc.

My daughter studied in GH since P. 1 and is now in F.2  We live in Lai King area.  All these years, she did spend a great deal of time in travelling.  I remember when she was in primary, every other years she needed to attend the morning sessions.  Her school bus arrived in 6:15 am and both of us got up at 5:45 am.  When we left home, it was still dark outside.  Could you imagine how it looked like in winter??  Then when she attended the afternoon class, she ate her lunch at 11:30 am and wouldn't come home until 6:30 pm.  But now I heard that the school bus came at later time because they have changed to a nursery van.

However, the situation will be imrpoved if
1.  The school is going to change to full-day.  That means they can start the school at a later time.

2.  The school bus fleet for GH also runs the secondary students.  One reason why the pick up the primary students so early is because they need to go for the second trip for the secondary students in the morning.  Like my daughter now, the school bus comes again the same spot at 7:25 am.  She sleeps 1.5 hour more as compared to her primary schoool days.

3. Try to get a nursery van if the school bus schedule does not work.

GH is a good school. My daughter has a great life there.

兜晒入村接人都係 15 分中- 30 分中

tko 去德望？好似停大站多，都係半個中-45 分中 !
