Same here, need to choose between Victoria and esf... ...

I think it might not lower the chance if you reject it , but it if you join now, it will increase the chance. My friend from Victoria didn't get into vic primary either, she didn't get interview by ESF primary at all, she was interviewed by other IS but didn't get offer. At the end she got in a private local school(not those most popular ones). Maybe it's her own problem because she is not he chatty type.

請教細B考ESF YEAR 1 有冇影響? 會唔會需要遲入學? 我見佢網上話只要果個年度5歲生日就OK, 無話需要遲入學, 有冇家長知道?

If you target ESF primary, I suggest you to enter their kindy as it's really hard to even get an interview of outsiders!

英基冇超大B呢d concept . 因為non selective admission ( 英基interview 係選合適用英文作教學語言的小朋友，不是選最叻，學得最快的小朋友）。加上課程係age appropriate , 根本冇做超大B日須要。而且，英基係跟年份收生，讀讀下發現有跟唔上或學障而重讀另計。

Thanks so much for the advice.

How about their mandarin and Chinese writing? How can I help on it? Is it going to the tutorial classes/ hire tutors is the only way parents can do?

We like eat.... just that also worry about their Chinese.

Even if you stay in vic for two years now and get into ESF primary, it wouldn't help much in Chinese. Do you speak Cantonese at home with the kid? Till now I have read Chinese books to my kid and speak to her in Cantonese at home, her Chinese is quite good (I reckon). I plan to teach her Chinese myself until I feel I cannot anymore then I will send her to tuition class.
