Hi,I was gratuated from 循道(about 20 years ago), at that time, it's a real good school... My nephew is studying in this school NOW in p.1. BUT as I heard from my Mom that, the principal and teachers are not so helpful and they're quite RUDE and STRICT to pupil, they have "test" on per two SATURDAY day. My nephew had got high FEVER on one Saturday morning but he arrived school at the very last moment in the test...the teacher DIDN'T ALLOW him to take the test, and his Mom was quarrelled with both teacher and principal on that matter at the end (happened in the first 2 weeks!!). It's too bad to child. The teacher and principal's attutide were both BAD indeed! Well, tell yr. friend about that case. just let him/his consider. The school is also pushing the pupils QUITE hard and the discipline is not so good as 12 years ago. It's totally different from 12 years ago...Maybe peoples thinks "result and %" is important than else so they says this is good.
Others-my friends' child was studied in this school but the result was not so good/happy (maybe the school's pressure or ors. I don't know) then parents arranged him in an INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL and thought child will have better life. Well, when he go in the international school, the school REQUESTED the child to REPEAT ONE YEAR. I was shocked about it. Well, means their English is not so strong and standard enough.
I don't know govt. schools' Eng. standard indeed.
My son is going to P.1 in Sept 05, BUT I NEVER choose this school (also in net 14 and I live in North Point)....so you better think about it.
衛理- as heard from peoples that it's a quite good school..around 60% go to Band 1. I think their discipline is OK. nothing else I can tell.
嘉諾撤- also heard from friends that it's good, but also pushing pupils quite hard (since there is only a.m. and p.m. section). But I think the status will change if they have "whole-day class". Their discipline is OK.
The first thing is to ask yr. friend about his "requirement" to the school and his child.
If he wants the % higher, then he can compare the schools' %. I THINK 衛理 is OK, at least their result is high and I never heard about their pressure for the time being.
