I have visited both Brighton and Dulwich. They are both academically strong, conveniently located and..expensive!!
Brighton is a co-ed school. Very strong focus in academic, and such efforts being rewarded by very good academic results! A small campus. If you want to go for a traditional kind of British school with very posh culture, that's definitely not your cup of tea. Though academic, I know students who graduate from the school and say they enjoy their school life. After all, the pressure of studying in HK is still much higher than studying in Brighton. It is situated near the beautiful seaside city center and is very convenient.

Dulwich is a boy's school, even more convenient as it is near London (can be an advantage or disadvantage depends on what you want). Academically it is good and has the more "traditional" flavor of a British school as compared with Brighton: posh, long history, strong tradition. Boarders proportion is very low and mainly Asians.

Both are good schools and depend on what you really want and the style of your child.

I don't have the statistics but my observation is that the ratio is reasonable.
I think schools with this sort of academic results and reputation naturally attract students from overseas, and in turn, these overseas students help them to achieve good results hence strong reputation.

I think both schools are also quite active in selecting students in HK

Academically, Brighton is very strong. My son's ex classmate is studying there and she mentioned that the school works pressure is no less than in HK. Despite that, she enjoys the school life and got excellent GCSE results. The school is very conveniently located in Brighton, but the campus is not as big as other school.

Dauntsey's is not the same academic standard as Brighton, it cannot be compared as it depends on your child ability and standard. Anyway, it is also a good school with great campus and facilities, however, it located in a rural area and not so convenient in terms of transportation.

Everyone has different situation and school selection criteria, a school good to us doesn't apply the same to you. You better check with agents or friends for recommendation closer to your requirements. Once you shortlisted a few, I highly recommend for a school visit before confirming your choice. If budget & time allowed, made an efforts to visit since we have special experience & lesson leant on this.

我的孩子在Dauntsey's 由Yr.9 起讀了三年，今年6th form 轉校了，學校校舍大，老師大部分都很好。但其中一位house master 好惡，所以選擇離開。

去年11月我同女去了school visit & 考入學試，校園很大，老師很nice, 我女都幾鍾意, 但最終我們揀了另外一間學校沒有入讀Dauntsey's.

謝謝兩位的資料。
揀學校真不容易，既要考慮學校的質素，又要考慮自己孩子的能力。以前為孩子揀中學，區內各間學校的水平大致都了解。但英國的學校真係只有從網上提供資料來選，亦不知他們的收生要求。既怕高攀，亦不想太低就，真頭痛。

英國學校太多，很難揀，唯有靠身邊朋友親戚、agent 和上網search 下討論區。應該得著不少。三年前我也是這樣子，上年轉校又做多次research 真係心竭力疲。
