My son will going to grade 10, he will take Phy, Chem and M2. He actually want to take Bio because he want to be a Chiropractor. But he is a SEN student, so I don't want him take Bio, it may too hard for him in spelling and writing.
This year, his school offers around 20 students to take A-level course together with DSE on the coming Oct. He is one of the 20. Teacher explains if we take school offer, we can use A-level to apply non-jupus and DSE to apply jupus. We just have to take care IELTS.
Is that true? Students can have two ways to apply U in the same year? His teacher predict my son's Chinese will get level 2 if can't improve the hand writing anymore, so they encourage us to take this offer first.

From http://www.jupas.edu.hk/en/eligibility/

Applicants with both HKDSE Examination AND other academic results and whose HKDSE Examination results or other academic results alone would make them eligible for application for admission to the programmes offered under JUPAS can apply

EITHER: via JUPAS on the strength of their HKDSE Examination results

OR: via non-JUPAS on the strength of their other academic results.

These applicants, however, CANNOT apply for admission via BOTH JUPAS and non-JUPAS to any programmes offered under JUPAS in the same academic year. They MUST cancel either their JUPAS or non-JUPAS application before they can proceed further.

不明，dse 是中六考，AL是丫13考=中七，相差一年，學內容有不同，學校點解安排?

學校希望學生十一年級尾時考一次A level, 話成績不好可以十二年級五月份再考一次!

AL - more flexible to take the exam, no need to wait for which grade 13 to take the exam. Can be Grade 10 - 13.

DSE - more rigid.

If make it flexible, it means students can try HKDSE subjects in different years to reduce workload of students and increase revenue of HKEAA at least by 20-30%.
