Both Samsonite and Delsey are far to be a show off brand. My Samonite was bought 20 years ago, I used it few times a year during working trip. Now I passed it to my daughter. The new Delsey soft baggage was bought at special discount, approx HK$1100.- 2 years ago. I am expecting her to use it until 30 years old at least.
Helley Hansen is not specialized for producing luggauges. However, my child never asks me for anything, usually no birthday presents and dinner . When she said she wanted a soft cabin bag for travelling, but didn't want me spend much money. Hahha, she is a girl. I am working hard to spoil her since middle school. Finally I was successful to persuade her to accept it as a special 18th birthday present , cost HK$1200.-.
As a matter of fact I had a factory to manufacture backpacks and lugguages long time ago. I feel frustrated when seeing luggagues were broken because of minor defects , such as broken zippers, infereior quality of pvc, binding, interior clothing, moulding, failure in workmanship etc. To pay few dollars more, those problems would be gone. Customers want trustful lasting products, not some framework looks like luggages. I always admire of good quality baggages in market even not going to buy them. Old habit, die hard.
Anyway, luggages are various to meet customers' personal need. Just go to choose something you like and affordable.
Yes, Samsonite is quite expensive now.
