2000年細女遲一年報P1

有沒有家長有經驗小朋友完了3年local kindergarten 、再讀1年International school，先再上 Local School's P1?

很頭痛呀？我耍九月前决定啦，因九月耍報P1，本人很想小朋友利用這一年train her English.

請給意見，謝謝。

Hi MeeMeeSoo, 我女兒亦是細女, 是11月出世的, 我都有好似你咁想過, 但有3個難題: 1. 怕女兒心理上不開心 2. 怕難找學校插班 3. $$

I think the kid won't have any hardfeeling about to do one more year in the kindergarten, in fact life in kindergarten is more happy than primary school.

I can share the following story:
A friend of mine has a November 1998 girl. The little girl started his K1 in 2001, according to my friend, she was doing OK but she was almost the smallest in the class, so her parent decided to let him repeat K2, she said that it is us the parent think it is boring for the kid and parents' face problem to let the child to repeat, but actually, the kid was very happy and she was very smart in the repeating year and  built up all her confident after the repeating year. Now she is doing excellent in his K3 and she is accepted by many DSS and private schools for the coming  P1 entry.

dear Adrianmama,

I think this case many many times.  some mummies gives more suggestion.  If family member support which is best to repeat.  Otherwise, my husband is not support.  In fact my son is mid dec and he shows so samll boy attitute.  ever on 社交, 心智,學習 and 語言 etc.  

some mums suggest go to repeat k2 and change new school.  this is better to him.  If repeat k3 , then he unhappy for  other classmates go to p1.  
at this moment it is so rube to find new o.k. school.

Now i only can do talk story books and study with my son more.  and hope my husband will change his mind.

samll boy attitute : 社交, 心智,學習 and 語言 etc

These are obvious on boys if they are the smallest in class.  語言 may not be so obvious.  But for 社交, 心智,學習, they are like baby compared with the older children.  Moreover, writing may also be a problem for them as their 小肌肉 has not fully developed yet.  You have to prepare to work harder with your boy if you let him be the smallest in class.

Dear All Mummies

Thank you for all your comments.

My idea is let my girl to complete K3 in same school. Actually, her school is famous local school and she can probably promote to its Primary school.  She is okay and can get on everything in the school except writing skills.  She needs to work hard in this part.  

I have concerned her feeling.  So I don't feel it is necessary to let her to repeat in K2 or K3.  Therefore, I would prefer her to complete K3 and graduate at school. As she is small, I would prefer her to explore one more year in another school for either K3 or P1 such as Internaitonal School for building up her English speaking and Mandarin.  She can speak English but is not really fluent.  In addition,  I found her not enough confidence for doing her jobs.  Even, she can follow the others.  In view of that, I hope she can use that year for buidling up confidence and language. Then, she is easy to cope with her studying in Primary.

As I am concerning to find the right school for that year, I don't know what to do.  Therefore, I would like to invite some experienced parents giving me their storis and comments.

Please advise.
