I see nothing wrong paying $980 for some good photos. We're talking how you see the value of a professional photographer's time. For all the executives' half-body photos we see in the business newspapers and magazines, they are taken on site in the office by professional photographers. Photos on school admission application forms are no less important. If the photos are good enough to catch the admission officials' attention, it's money better spent than the so-called interview classes. At least your kid will have a nice photo to look at years later or to show to his/her kids in the future.
Having said that, my kids' id photos came from the 1-hour photofinishing shop in the neighborhood. Did the job for me.
