Update:
Just got the VISA, the office made adjustment of the clearance permit period. My son's CAS term starting date is 1/9, previous rule is 1 month prior to this date. Now the period is late August to late September, which matches my intended landing date of early September.
I have asked the staff anything could be done for those who already got the VISA, and the clearance permit expires before their intended landing date. They offer a website and asked those affected write to the VISA office in Manila and see if any remedies other than changing the flight schedule.
NB: The VISA office allocated my son's school as the location to collect his BRP, even we did not enter the info in the application. (At that time we still do not know the school can deliver the BRP.)
