There are plenty of resources you can easily find and download for better understanding and preparation, say, YLE teacher's notes, guides and handbook.
Just to name a few:

1. Cambridge YLE Information for candidates and parents
2. Cambridge YLE Handbook for Teachers
3. YLE Starters Practice Tests Teacher's Notes published by MacMillan

Trust the above resources and past papers would be sufficient for parents who want to help their children's YLE Starters preparation.
