I know it is a minor thing but I think we should use Lunar New Year instead of Chinese New Year, as there are other countries celebrating this as well.

Thanks for your comment, interestingly everyone overseas use CNY nowadays instead, in Seoul all the banners for sales promotion also quote CNY. If you google CNY, you will also find websites like this one in Malaysia http://publicholidays.com.my/chinese-new-year/
Chinese Shoppers are all over the World, and changing the World ...

Oh yes I definitely agree with you. But just want point to out that this 'New Year Event' is shared by other nations as well. Korea is a good example too.
