Don't buy it in Gifted Child Ed Group. They mark up the price of all learning material before they give you discount.
My son loves " honics Kids" too! I bought it in Mar 2005 in the toy shop at 9/F., Times Square, CWB. The original price in that shop is only HK$318 (but GC marks up the price to HK$338). Since it's the promotion period in the toy shop for all learning materials (including Phonics Kids, Richard Scarry, Madeline and Doman's flash cards which all material are same as GC), all items are selling at 15% off.
That means I bought Phonics Kids for HK$270 only (which is the same price of blue VIP card holder of GC after discount). And then I bargained with the sales in the toy shop and then they offered me HK$260 only!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A year ago, I bought Easy-to-read level 1 from GC because there was a topic in Baby Kingdom that a "good mommy" helped other mommies bought this series (Easy-to-read level) in GC. Unfornately, that good mommy was found as a sales working in GC finally!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Easy-to-read series actually is RUBBLISH!!!!! It's not attractive and my son doesn't like it!!!!!! I think it's not worth to spent over HK$1,000 to buy such rubblish!!!
Actually all materials sold in GC are from Taiwan. But many of those materials have Simplified Chinese Version which is one tenth of the price of Taiwan Version!!!!!!!! Such as Little Kiss series, Big Science, Easy-to-read series!!!!!!!!!!
