Galileo was laughed at and persecuted when he suggested that the Earth revolves around the Sun, Jesus was mocked by Jews when he told them that "I am the way, the truth and the Life".
To make any new suggestion against common belief is difficult but the encouraging thing is that the truth will always prevail.
I am personally pleased to see new books, new thoughts, new products which advances our knowledge of ourself. I still remember mocking my wife when she showed flashcards to my sons when they were only two months old. I am lucky that she did not listen to me and continued on what she was doing (like always). Now my children are well versed in English literature and are amongst the top students in their class without much effort. All credit goes to mummy (not me) for holding onto what she believed in to be right.
As far as BabyPlus is concerned, it will stay if it works and it will disappear if it doesn't. This is the rule of the market.
I would encourage all parents not to make the mistake that I did (making comments or decisions without studying the matter). You may not have a stubborn wife like mine who will fightoff criticism and pursue what she believe to be right.
Three cheers to the pursuit of truth.

PS. BTW, it is understandable that if a person missed the boat as far as "prenatal learning" is concerned, they would rather advocate the belief that no such thing exist".
